Its been a fascinating week. Its hard to write down the weirdness of spending a few days in Silicon Valley. The 80 or so local people that cycle through this conference are incredible. But the US is another planet...in short it is the right place to correctly establish and seek a return for a "for profit" education initiative....but a week here makes you realise why the anachronistic structure of Australian Government's spell our ultimate doom as a nation if we are not careful.
The short term thinking of our Governments work against our ultimate growth...
Anyway Archer College will celebrate its global nature everyday...even the hard days. Because as Freedman says in his new book the World is now flat and as Mafesoli said in 1996 this is the time of the tribes (read communities of practice). And you can really do anything anywhere if you can imagine it. The keys to our success in America are so removed from any measure of success in Australia, I daren't mention them. All I can say is keep reading and writing Blogs, and the future of corporate education lay in the extended families of the people who choose to work there.
I will keep working to make corporations and the families of their workers value Archer College, because we truly add value.
